Why not enter Mayfield Bonfire Society’s new Build-a-Guy competition for the chance to see your Guy blown to bits at the Mayfield Carnival! There will be prizes for the most original and best-dressed Guys (or Gals) and the makers of ‘The People’s Choice’ will be VIP guest on Saturday 21st September, when the winning Guy will be ceremonially blown up at the Carnival. The Mayfield Memorial Hall Field is an alcohol free zone. Please do not bring alcohol to the event.
All alcohol may be confiscated and destroyed by the police

No fireworks to be dropped in the village

3.00pm Children's Fancy Dress Competition (Memorial Hall)
4.00pm Build-a-Guy Competition Prize Giving (Memorial Hall)
6.30pm Road Closures begin (Starting with High Street)
6.55pm Wreath Laying Ceremony (High Street, Memorial Hall)
7.30pm First Procession (Horse Trough to Rose and Crown)
8.30pm Second Procession (Rose and Crown, via High St, West St, Stone Cross, Station Rd to Horse Trough)
9.15pm Grand Procession (including blowing up the winning guy) (Horse Trough to Memorial Hall Gates)
10.00pm Grand Aerial Fireworks Display (Court Meadow, Playing Fields)
10.15pm Prize Giving (Memorial Hall)
11.00pm Fairground closes
11.30pm Roads open

All timings are approximate.

Refreshment outlets open throughout the day and a Fair operates on Court Meadow.

During the evening please help to support  Mayfield Bonfire Society by using our  Bar  & BBQ  in the High Street.


Road closures  6:30 to 11:30pm

The village will be closed to vehicles between these times. Absolutely no admittance - emergency vehicles only.

The Tunbridge Wells Road will be closed to traffic entering the village from 9.30pm, to allow safe exit for vehicles and emergency services.

Taxi/Lift drop-off and collection points will be publicised in the Programme and around the Village in advance. Please book Taxi firms listed on the Taxi Map, as they will have access to the latest information and access times for pick-ups. Please book well in advance.

PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO PUBLIC TRANSPORT IN THE AREA AFTER 7.45PM, AND TAXIS ON THE NIGHT WILL BE BUSY, SO YOU NEED TO BOOK YOUR OWN HOMEWARD TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS IN ADVANCE.
